Sinfiction - Ugly Baby Review

It is not often that I am enamoured by indie rock, or anything ‘indie’ for that matter. The nauseating, egotistical genre full of whiter than white males reciting from the grail that is ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and dodgy Madchester haircuts does not appeal to me at all.

However after listening to Sinfiction’s stunning double A side ‘Ugly Baby/Painted Memories’ my pessimistic outlook on this tired genre was quashed. The Oxford foursome craft luscious beats with jangly guitars, driving rhythm sections and soaring vocals. It is something truly unique and it’s been interesting listening to their latest offering.

If Sinfiction can keep on this tangent of incredible song writing, the world is most certainly their oyster.
